Jason Geyer over at venerable website ActionFigureInsider has published a piece that digs up some very interesting facts about Mattel’s Secret Wars action figure line from the 1980′s.

You may recall it was Geyer who, years ago, unearthed a wealth of material regarding Kenner’s Super Powers line. Now he’s done the same with SW.

Reveals include plans for more than a half dozen additional characters that were never made, including new body types for large characters like Abomination and female characters like Dazzler. Also an assortment of production art includes what is likely the very first superhero artwork by Bruce Timm.

There’s a lot more too. Check out the entire article at AFI.com.
